What is this before launch, Xiaomi 12 Ultra – the alleged successor to the Mi 11 Ultra released last year – is expected to debut in China in May. The smartphone manufacturer could launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra as a premium offering, along with the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X smartphone models that were unveiled in China in December.
As per old reports, the smartphone can be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, which is an upgraded version of the SoC found in the Xiaomi 12 Pro, and is powered by a 4860mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
Xiaomi has not officially revealed any details about the specifications of the smartphone or the launch schedule.
The smartphone was spotted in the IMEI database last month, with model number 2206122SC, while the phone is said to be codenamed Xiaomi L2S – the Xiaomi 12 Pro was codenamed “L2”.
The smartphone is also said to have a Leica-branded rear camera setup.

The Mi 11 Ultra is believed to be a beast of a smartphone but it may be surpassed by the upcoming Xiaomi device called Mi 12 Ultra. It seems that this could easily become the best Xiaomi device and one of the best competitors in the flagship class. Mi 12 Pro may arrive with a Snapdragon 888 chipset and a large battery of 5300 mAh. The screen and cameras could be exceptionally good if not less.

Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra can display a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a pixel density of 509 pixels per inch. The screen is said to come with a punch-hole complimented by thin bezels. The device may also feature a high refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass.

The Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is said to have an impressive quad rear camera system with a 50MP primary sensor, 50MP ultra-wide sensor, 50MP telephoto lens, 5MP macro sensor, and LED flash. On the front, the device will most likely get a 32MP selfie camera. Auto flash, autofocus, bokeh effect, continuous shooting, exposure compensation, face detection, geo-tagging, high dynamic range (HDR) mode, ISO control, Touch to focus, white balance presets may be supported by the camera.

The Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and Adreno 660GPU. The RAM and internal memory of the device can reach 12 GB and 256 GB, respectively. The device can have a large Li-Polymer battery with a capacity of 5300 mAh that can come with the device. It is also said to have fast charging and wireless charging.
Software and Communication
The Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is likely to come with Android 11 out of the box. The smartphone can get connectivity options like 5G, Dual sim VoLTE (Nano + Nano), Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 5.2. In terms of port selection, the smartphone will likely get a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
